About this game

Idle Research is an addictive incremental, resource management game with both idle and active gameplay.
Research and craft items (Vases, Pipes and Cylinders (future)) to get as many 3 types of Energy as possible!
The game can be played anywhere, anytime, without internet or constant attention (although it will speed things up :D).
Support multiple platforms from Mobile and Web versions!

We all love numbers, right? How about the big one? That’s what this game is for! I designed the game to be fun and addictive. Fans of basic and complex ascending steps will love this game.

Research, the most important feature of the game, can unlock up to 18 different and colorful essential items!

Crafting researched items will give you more Energy and can be used in various game features!

Progress through the game and complete 148 achievements!
There are currently 100 achievements on Steam for you to collect 🙂

Reset some progress, get Gold items and come back faster!
There are many kinds of prestige for you to unlock

Fight enemy Pipes and steal their Energy!
Explore through 7 different zones with up to 500 stages each!

Steal valuable skill shards and improve 70 different skills!

Become an alchemist and brew various potions!

There’s more content for you to unlock, no more buggers :^). 100 hours guaranteed!
The game can be accelerated for those of you who are addicted to speed.

The game is currently in Early Access, as you can see from the cards and banner at the top. Currently, there are two asset classes: Vases and Pipes. My goal is to add a third and final layer of content, and also add some holiday events!

If you’re curious, the third layer of content is bigger than Pots and Pipes combined! There will be several types of educational materials related to chemistry, physics, and mathematics. Also, there will be some form of story or dialogue, if that’s your type.

Future development

As a lone indie developer, this is my passion and hobby. Making games is one of my favorite hobbies and I don’t expect that to change anytime soon. I’m always looking for suggestions, bug fixes, and ways to add new content to make the game even better. My goal is to please as many players as possible and create an enjoyable experience.

Meet the developer

Hi, friend! My name is Zach. I’m the only developer for CryptoGrounds. Everything at Idle Research is built from scratch, including: game design, art, music, marketing, etc.

I am a sophomore in college, majoring in Computer Science with a focus on Data and Space Science. My goal is to focus on college and allocate as much as possible to game development, while trying to balance interests and other social life :^)

Other hobbies include: making YouTube videos, mountain climbing, video games, drawing, making friends, and programming random side projects. I am a person who loves music. I’m always open to discussing these things on Discord!
